Individual Faculty Research Profile—Hafid Gafaiti, Ph.D.
Hafid Gafaiti is Andrew Mellon Distinguished Professor, Horn Professor of Romance Studies, and Qualia Professor of French and Francophone Studies at Texas Tech University. He has published and lectured widely on French and Francophone Literatures, postcolonial and transnational cultural issues, feminism, and Islam. He is the author or co-author of twelve scholarly books, including Transnational Spaces and Identities in the Francophone World (Nebraska UP, 2009), La Diasporisation de la littérature postcoloniale (L'Harmattan, 2005), and Les Femmes dans le roman algérien (L'Harmattan, 1996 ), a s well as three award-wining collections of poetry. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Nouvelles Etudes Francophones (C.I.E.F.) and Director of the book series Etudes Transnationales, Francophones et Comparées/Transnational, Francophone and Comparative Studies published with L'Harmattan Press.
