A French major consists of 30 hours of course work at the 2000 level and above. A student can begin work at the 2000, 3000, or 4000 level, but must complete at least 15 hours at the 4000 level. Courses are offered in language, culture, and literature. At least 9 upper level hours must be taken at TTU; 6 hours of advanced courses must be writing intensive. Each major is tailored to meet the student's individual needs.

FRENCH 2302 Second Year French II

FRENCH 3302 Major French Writers
FRENCH 3303 French Conversation
FRENCH 3304 Grammar: A Comprehensive Review
15 hours
Five 4000-level courses, including at least one literature course. Two courses are offered each long semester on a rotating basis.
Total: 30 hours
Certain advanced students may also be selected to participate in the program's dual (Accelerated) B.A./M.A. Program.
Several scholarship opportunities are available to French majors.
