Russian Language & Area Studies
This is the faculty of the Russian Language and Area Studies(RLAS) program, Anthony Qualin and Erin Collopy {not pictured is Assistant Professor Jennifer Sunseri}. RLAS is an interdisciplinary program. We offer language, literature, political science and history courses. We are particularly proud of our partnership with the College of Business. A student can major in Russian and minor in Business and then spend their fifth year working on their MBA. Normally it might take six years to complete a BA and an MBA.
The International Cultural Center is a brand new facility at Texas Tech. The ICC Library has an extensive collection of international videos and software.We believe in bringing the world to you! We also believe in taking you to see the world. We regularly take students on our summer program for a four-five week study tour in Moscow. Interested in joining us? The Russian Club is extremely active. The club sponsors guest speakers, cultural events and academic conferences every year. Above you see an example of our new club t-shirt. It was designed by one of our own students and is based on the double eagle emblem of the Russian Tsars. Be sure to check out the Russian Club's Web site for more information.
