Russian Language and Area StudiesRussian Language MinorThe minor requires 18 semester hours of course work. RUSN 1501 is a prerequisite for, but do not count towards, the minor. RUSN 2301, 2302, and 3305 (or their equivalents) are required for all students seeking a minor. Nine hours of upper division credits are required for the minor. At least three of these must be senior (4000) level. Three of these hours will come from 3305. Students then choose two upper division courses, at least one of which is at the senior level. Courses taken for the Russian language minor may not be used to satisfy the requirements for the student’s other major or minor. In addition, the standard requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree must be met. Prior to enrolling in the program and to registering for courses, students should consult Professor Qualin. The minor degree plan will be drawn up from the following list of courses*:
*Students with a background in the language may be excused from some requirements at the discretion of the advisor. All students must, however, complete the minimum number of hours.
