Cost of Attendance

The annual total cost of education for Texas residents at Texas Tech University is over $1000 less than the University of Texas - Austin and $3000 less than the University of Houston. We offer a quality education at a reasonable cost.

Student Life Experience

Texas Tech has an abundance of clubs and societies with many opportunities for meeting people and making friends through involvement in competititions and other exciting activities. There are also many support services for students to help them succeed in the challenging engineering curriculum. The housing on campus includes floors for engineering students with tutoring and study sessions.

Small Classes

Upper-level engineering classes are small with the number students ranging from 5 to 25. As a result, students benefit from more individual attention from faculty.

Undergraduate Research

Students in the Honors College are given the opportunity to collaborate with faculty who are engaged in research. This type of collaboration enhances the learning experience and allows students to take part in finding solutions to societies problems.

Quality Faculty

The College of Engineering faculty are an oustanding group of professors and researchers who put the students first. Many have won teaching awards and have provided a valuable service to the students. Others have won awards of excellence in research and are internationally known in their fields.

Project Classes

Tech engineers learn by doing. We offer many classes that focus on design projects to give students an experience that more accurately reflects how things are done after graduation.

Big 12 Sports

Texas Tech is a member of the Big 12, which is one of the most exciting athletic conferences in the United States. Texas Tech is routinely ranked in the top 25 universities in the country in football, basketball, and baseball. We have some of the newest and most modern sports facilities in the U.S. and students get free admission. Come see coach Bobby Knight lead his team to victory!

Community Feel

Texas Tech is located in Lubbock, which has the feel of a small town with the amenities of a larger city. In addition, Tech is a medium-sized school where the students don't get lost in the masses. Tech students bring their small town mentality and values with them and support one another in reaching their goals.
