Electrical Engineering – 1963
Jerry C. Edmonson was born in Runningwater, Texas, and graduated from high school in Olton, Texas. Mr. Edmonson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1963.
Since his graduation from Tech, Mr. Edmonson has been employed as an engineer and engineering manager in positions of increasing responsibility and authority. During the period from 1963 through 1975 he was employed by the Public Service Company of Oklahoma in a succession of positions from junior engineer to manager, power systems coordination. In 1975 Mr. Edmonson moved to the Transok Pipe Line Company, Tulsa, Oklahoma, as executive vice president and in 1977 he became president and chief executive officer of Transok, the position he presently holds.
Mr. Edmonson is a member of many professional societies and organizations including the National Gas Men of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association, Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers, IEEE Power Engineering Society, Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association, Southern Gas Association, and the American Nuclear Society. He was a member of the Texas Tech Electrical Engineering Advisory Board from 1979 to 1983.
Mr. Edmonson is involved in many community and civic activities. He is chairman of the Board of Directors and deacon in the Southern Hills Baptist Church, and is a member of the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce, the Golf Club of Oklahoma and the Green Country Soccer Association. He has been a strong supporter of young people in his association with the Boy Scouts of America, the Tulsa Science Fair and Engineering Student Day.
He is married to the former Judy C. Lacewell. They have two children, a daughter Carrie, 19 years old and son Bryan, 16 years old.
