Admission & Application Requirements

Important Note:When applying keep in mind that your completed application packet is more important than just your apply date. This means it is suggested all students turn in their transcripts, GRE scores, supporting documents, etc., at the same time that you complete the application. 

TTU Graduate Admission's Application Procedures:  

Prospective Students

  1. Fill out the online application at ApplyTexas if you are a new, first-time applicant.  If you have applied to Texas Tech Graduate School before, please complete the Graduate Application Change Form 
  2. Pay your application fee: $60 initial application fee or $50 for each subsequent application (including changes of entry date, add/change program requests, or readmission requests). Application fees for new, first-time applications may be paid via ApplyTexas at the time of application submission or by credit card on The Graduate Admissions website.
  3. Contact the Graduate Program Coordinator in your prospective department. Many departments have separate application requirements and deadlines, and the Graduate Program Coordinator will be able to assist you in  your application process. You should also visit the Graduate Program Information Page for your prospective program to see what items you will need to submit in addition to the Graduate School required documents.
  4. Send all your required documents (both for the Graduate School and for your prospective program) to the Graduate School. For faster processing, you may send unofficial copies via email attachment to Please send only PDF attachments which are no larger than 2MB in size per attachment.  You may also send documents to the addresses below:

Check your application status often on the Raiderlink portal's Applications tab. You should receive your log-in information between 1-5 days after your new, first-time application has been uploaded to our database. If you do not receive the log-in information, please send us an email to with your full name, date of birth, term applied to, and program applied to, and we will resend your log-in information.
