We’re excited about new students coming to study and work at the Whitacre College of Engineering. However, in order to join the Texas Tech family, we need you to complete a few tasks:

Application Process

  • Study and take the GRE
    1. Take in advance in case there is a need to retake the exam
    2. Allow a month to six weeks prior to any application deadline to ensure results are available to schools
  • Complete an Application
    1. Applications are filled out online at http://www.applytexas.org/ The application fee is $100.
    2. Along with the application, every student should make sure they submit to the Texas Tech Graduate School:
      1. An official transcript
      2. Entrance exam scores (i.e. GRE)
      3. Contact your department advisor to ensure that you complete all departmental requirements.
      4. Other TTU requirements for international students as well as specific deadlines can be found at the Texas Tech Graduate Admission page.
  • Additional Materials:
    1. Three letters of recommendation on letterhead
    2. Statement of purpose
    3. Résumé
    4. Be sure to check the Texas Tech Graduate School FAQ to make sure you meet all university requirements
    ***Check with your specific department to verify where they would like these materials sent.
