From Development Officer Memory Bennett

Development Officer Memory Bennett The school year is in full swing and campus is buzzing with students in our “new” building. I think everyone is finding their routine and enjoying the new space and technology we have now. During the Fall 2012 semester we had several opportunities to showcase the building and give tours to alumni and friends. We hope you have gotten a first-hand look at the building but, if not, please call and we can set up a tour at your convenience. We have planned a celebration for KTXT-FM in March. We hope to have many alumni attend who played a part in KTXT while they were students at Texas Tech. If you would like to attend or know of others who we need to invite, please let us know.

If you will not be able to join us on campus, we have several ways you can stay connected with the college. We have several regional alumni groups that have created career-development workshops for alumni and current students.

The college also emails a newsletter every 4-5 weeks. We send the Converging News e-newsletter to alumni for whom we have email addresses. If you haven’t received it, I encourage you to visit the current issue of Converging News and click "subscribe".

Another exciting event happening with the university is the Vision and Tradition Campaign, which is the most ambitious fundraising effort ever undertaken by the Texas Tech University System. The university recently reached its $1 billion goal, and we would love for you to be a part of this historic milestone of Texas Tech. Our main priorities are in the areas of student scholarships, faculty support, and facilities enhancement.

Lastly, we like to hear from you. Feel free to contact us anytime. Let us know what you have been up to, about job/career changes, or family milestones. We always love to hear from alumni near and far! If you would like more information about the above ways to connect with our beloved College of Media & Communication, call me at 806-834-5454 or email me at I look forward to hearing from you!
