I have always loved architecture and design but wanted to connect with people on a more personal level than typical architects. Three semesters into my college career, I switched my major from architecture to journalism, and I couldn't be happier! I love being able to get to know so many people through conversations, interviews and articles. I am now a senior journalism major with an architecture minor, from Cincinnati, Ohio.
I am currently the student editor for The MC magazine. I am so thankful for the opportunity this position has given me. With each draft I receive, I learn more about our college, the talented students, and the successful alumni.
I spent the majority of my summer in Indianapolis at Indianapolis Monthly magazine, editing, writing and researching stories for their monthly publication. I really enjoyed the experience it gave me and loved the newsworthy stories it covered each month. I was constantly learning something new and interesting about the city and state each day I came to work.
The first few weeks of summer I spent studying abroad in London, England with the college and it was one of the best experiences of my life! I have always loved traveling and learning about new cultures and the opportunity to travel to London, along with a few days in Paris, France, was amazing.
When I graduate from Tech in May 2014, I hope to combine my love for traveling and journalism into a career as a magazine travel writer. My ultimate goal would be to work for National Geographic Traveler.
