Position Description

The College of Media & Communication at Texas Tech University seeks two (2) Assistant Professors of Practice to teach in the College's Distance and Online Education programs from the Dallas-Waco area. The ideal candidate is a communication generalist can teach Public Speaking, Business and Professional Communication, and Media Writing, as well as other classes in areas of need, especially in our upper division undergraduate sequences and our professional MA programs. Applicants must possess an advanced degree in Media/Communication or closely allied discipline; a PhD is preferred, but exceptional candidates with an MA or equivalent (MFA) will be considered. Job candidates should be committed to teaching and mentoring students and should have prior experience and success teaching in an online format. The hires may be based anywhere in the Dallas-Waco region, but will be called upon to teach classes at regional sites in both Dallas and Waco, Texas. Duties include teaching seven courses a year, including a combination of online and face-to-face (terrestrial) courses, and supporting efforts to recruit majors for the College at TTU centers in Dallas and Waco.
