Telea Stafford

An executive member of the Texas Tech Alumni Board of Directors and chair of the Membership/Marketing/Diversity committee, Telea Stafford earned her Bachelor of Science degree in advertising from Texas Tech University in 1994 and her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, in 2003. She has more than 15 years of successful experience in brand marketing, consumer licensing and media.

Currently, she is the director of brand marketing and business development for Phenixx Marketing, LLC, where she integrates insight from focus groups and experience to ensure marketing plans for clients are brand consistent and aligned with objectives, identifies gaps in the marketing environment to innovate new consumer offers, and leverages new media to reach new and unique audiences.

She has extensive experience in Web-based marketing, direct mail, buzz and viral campaigns.

Previously, she worked as account director for Nokia Entertainment/TracyLocke in Dallas, where she directed the advertising and marketing support for the NOKIA Theater opening in Los Angeles and Music Phone Portfolio, and she created three signature programs for NOKIA social networking and music campaigns, including Fall Out Boy Promotion, Actors Studio, and Band on a Bus.

While in this position, she also initiated the first buzz marketing campaign to support a music series platform.

From 2003 to 2007, she worked as a manager for Cadbury Schweppes in Plano, Texas, where she positioned Cadbury Schweppes as a leader within the licensing community by launching a consumer-licensing program and climbing to the top 100 in 12 months. She delivered $3 million in royalty revenue in the first year of the consumer-licensing project, and she was accountable for $2.5 million annually.
