Duties: I handle all student-related areas and oversee the Advising Center, the Career Center, and Study Abroad. I have taught Freshman Seminar (IS 1100) for nine years, along with PR Writing (PR 3312) and Magazine Writing (JOUR 3316).

Specialized training: Marijane has had eight peer-reviewed publications, given numerous conference papers and has had one play produced. She continues to study Henry James, literary journalism, playwriting, film studies and medieval literature.

Experience: I served as assistant dean of the Graduate School for 16 years and have taught rhetoric, technical and public relations writing, and American literature and drama for 35 years.

Leadership / awards: Marijane received the Outstanding Achievement Award for service and dedication to Texas Tech in 1996. She served as president and vice president of the Quarterly Club, the women's scholarship club for over seven years as well as serving on many university committees. She also held state and regional offices in graduate education organizations.
