Scott Irlbeck
Broadcast Producer
Scott Irlbeck is a senior producer and multimedia coordinator for the Office of Communications and Marketing. In addition to yelling "lights, camera, action" (we don't really do that – it just sounds cool), he schedules and conducts interviews, develops scripts and oversees final production for video and audio projects.
Scott enjoys his job because he is always working on different projects with a variety of people across campus. He is always amazed at the many faculty and student research projects going on at any given time and tries to capture as many as he can with stories and video projects produced by the office.
In addition to working at Texas Tech, Scott is also a "weekend" farmer, helping his dad during the busy season on the family farm near Tulia, just a little more than an hour drive north of Lubbock.
Scott's work experience includes six years as a news producer/reporter for KAMC/KLBK – TV before coming to Texas Tech. He worked for two years as the communications coordinator for Texas Tech's Fiber and Biopolymer Research Institute before joining the Communications and Marketing staff in 2005. He is a graduate of Texas Tech with a degree in journalism.
