Undergraduate Studies in Technical Communication & Rhetoric

The Bachelor of Arts in Technical Communication combines a perfect mix of liberal arts education and intensive training in the principles and practices of technical communication, including multimedia and print. This unique degree program provides opportunities to build on your writing talent while exploring subjects you liked best in school–biology, chemistry, foreign language, physics, geometry, geology, design, computer science, photography, and journalism.

JOBS IN ALMOST EVERY INDUSTRY.
Be prepared for a multitude of career possibilities as science writers, Web developers, information architects, or usability experts in a variety of areas such as publishing, sales and marketing, government, health care, science and biotech, information technology, and manufacturing.

MOVE ON TO GRADUATE STUDIES.
After completing undergraduate work in Technical Communication, you will be well prepared for graduate studies in our master’s and doctoral programs, or opportunities to continue your education at Texas Tech’s School of Law, Rawls College of Business, or the Medical School/Health Sciences Center.

ONE DEGREE, TWO OPTIONS.
The program requires 120 semester credit hours, consisting of the university general education requirements, 30 hours in a major field plus 18-21 hours in an approved minor. Choose your minor first, choice of minor dictates specialization.

Professional Communication (PC) prepares students for jobs in industry or the public sector.
