RSS News Feeds
What is RSS?
RSS stands for "Rich Site Summary" or "Really Simple Syndication”, depending on who you ask. Regardless of what you call it, RSS is a way to publish information online.
RSS is based on a special Web coding, called XML. XML code creates Web information called a “news feed." The feed contains a summary and links of the new content on a Web site.
To view an RSS news feed you need RSS Aggregators (also called Readers). Aggregators will download and display RSS news feeds for you. Many Web browsers such as Firefox come with a built-in aggregators and a number of free or commercial news aggregators are available for download.
Why use RSS?
The advantages of using RSS are simple; they save time and bandwidth.
Rather than visiting all of your favorite news Web sites, the news comes directly to your computer via your RSS aggregator.
If you are unfamiliar with RSS feeds, don't worry—they are simple to use and make your Internet life easier and more enjoyable.

To get started, you need a news aggregator. There are many free ones available for download such as Google Reader, RSS Bandit, RSSReader or Feedreader for Windows. Once you've chosen an aggregator, simply follow the download instructions.
Many browsers such as Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox support RSS feeds and Safari has built in RSS Management for Macintosh.
Subscribe
To subscribe, follow your aggregator's instructions to subscribe to any of our news feeds. Typically this requires you to click on a news feed link, then copy and paste the URL into the aggregator's "subscribe" dialogue.
