Street musicians, a flower-covered arbor and Vespa scooters will line  the walkway leading guests to the fourth annual fundraising gala benefiting the National Ranching Heritage Center (NHRC).

The center’s newly expanded patio will be transformed into a Tuscan street scene to celebrate a timeless landscape that has long served as the inspiration of artists, travelers and romantics.

Guests will be greeted with passports to a “Night Under the Tuscan Moon,” and will enjoy a patio reception with a free bar, silent auction, raffle, wishing fountain and music. Following the reception, guests will dine on an Italian-style steak dinner by Chef L.E. Anderson.

“On May 17, the moon will be nearing full phase. It will be a perfect night for beautiful Italian music, great food and wine on the center’s grape- and flower-covered patio. How much more of an Italian romantic can you be in Lubbock?” asks Marsha Pfluger, associate director of the NRHC.

The event begins at 6 p.m. on May 17. Tickets are $75 each or reserved tables of eight for $1,000. Proceeds will support preservation and maintenance of the 47 historic ranch structures at the National Ranching Heritage Center.

Silent auction items are posted on the NRHC’s Web site for early bidding or for those who cannot attend the gala. Final bidding will occur at the gala.

This year’s raffle is a “money tree” filled with  hundreds of dollars in gift cards and certificates for local restaurants, retail merchants, gasoline and travel Raffle tickets are $10 each, can be purchased prior to the event and the winner need not be present to.  Contact Robin Gilliam-Crawford for more information, reservations or raffle tickets at (806) 742-0498.

About the NRHC

The National Ranching Heritage Center is a museum and historical park in Lubbock, established to preserve the history of ranching, pioneer life and the development of the livestock industry in North America.

Forty-five authentic, furnished ranch buildings and structures have been relocated to the center and show the evolution of ranch life from the late 1780s through the 1930s.
