Coach Kristy Curry is anything but tired of teaching basketball.
Kristy Curry is one of the most respected coaches in women’s college basketball. After establishing herself as one of the most successful women’s basketball coaches in school history at Purdue, Curry has taken over the reigns of a tradition-rich program at Texas Tech. With her enthusiasm, determination and work ethic, there is no doubt Curry will push her teams to new heights and keep Texas Tech among the top programs in the country year in and year out. Already in her first year at Texas Tech, Curry signed a top 10 recruiting class.
At Purdue, where Curry spent seven years at the helm of the Boilermakers, she compiled a 179-51 career record, won two Big Ten regular season and three Big Ten tournament championships. She also guided her teams to seven NCAA tournament appearances, including the Final Four championship game in 2001. Curry has learned the game from some outstanding mentors, including the legendary Leon Barmore, former coach of Louisiana Tech.
Now Curry has scheduled a series of summer camps to share her knowledge. “I’ve learned so much from so many different people in my life and my career, and it is my duty to pass that on to the next generation,” Curry says. “Knowledge is worth nothing if you keep it to yourself. Camp is about learning skills, and learning what it takes to succeed. At Texas Tech, you will play lots of games while we teach lots of lessons. And together we’ll have lots of fun.”
There will be a number of camps to choose from throughout the summer for all ages and basketball abilities. Your child can learn the fundamentals with the Lady Raiders while joining other campers from around the nation.
