It's time for the annual Relay for Life walk to fight cancer.

The 2007 Tech Relay for Life will take place on April 14 at 6 p.m. at the R. P. Fuller Track.

The 2006 Tech Relay for Life included 75 teams raising more than $67,000. The goal for 2007 is 80 teams raising more than $100,000. All money raised and donated for the Tech Relay for Life goes directly to the American Cancer Society, funding cancer research to help fight this horrible disease.

We kick off the Tech Relay for Life by honoring our survivors with an opening lap of HOPE. After the opening ceremonies many fun night activities will begin to entertain team members as they walk to find a cure. There are always great bands, a Miss Relay contest, massages, games, and more to keep the energy level high throughout the night. We hold our traditional, very touching Luminaria ceremony in honor of those who have lost their battle with cancer and those who continue to fight the disease.

Cancer never sleeps and on April 14 neither will we. Please join the many supporters of the Tech Relay by making a team to help us find a cure and stop cancer once and for all.

If you would like to learn how to make your own Relay team or to make a donation to the Tech Relay for Life, then please contact the Lubbock American Cancer Society office at 806.792.7128.
