Students Honored During August 2007 Commencement
Written by John Davis
The future holds more twists and turns than one can comprehend. But concentrating on personal fulfillment and staying flexible to new changes can lead to finding one’s path in life.
That’s what Texas Tech alumnus Geoff Wayne, who serves as executive vice president and director of corporate development for Behavioral Health Group, said during his speech during the Aug. 11 commencement ceremonies at Texas Tech University.
“Odds are, your first position wont’ be your last,” Wayne said. “Odds are the industry you begin in may not be where you end up. But, that’s OK. When I was at my graduation 10 years ago, I had my life planned out. Looking back now, life is much better than I had anticipated. You can’t comprehend the future and all it holds.”
More than 1,200 undergraduate and graduate students received diplomas during two ceremonies in the United Spirit Arena.
Outstanding students carried banners representing their respective colleges. Administrators selected the banner bearers based on all-around achievement.
