Two Alumni Association designs, the Texas Techsan and the Texas Tech Day in Austin invitation, were honored at the 2008 Lubbock Advertising Awards hosted in February.

The magazine spread entitled The Boilermaker received a Silver ADDY Award in the Editorial Spread or Feature category. The piece was designed by Brandi Price from Hartsfield Design and written by Jennifer Ritz, associate editor of the Texas Techsan magazine. Steve Butman provided the photographs.

“We were very excited to learn one of our Texas Techsan spreads received an ADDY,” Ritz said. “Our design firm, Hartsfield Design, is second to none and has done an outstanding job designing our publication.”

The Price Group received a Gold ADDY Award for the Alumni Association’s Texas Tech Day in Austin invitation. Members of the Texas Legislature and their staff members were presented a bottle of Raider Red wine that was decorated to resemble the Masked Rider. The invitation served as the cape for the Masked Rider wine bottles. Raider Red wine is complimented by Raider Rose and Raider White in the Texas Tech Wine series.

Winners of the Gold ADDY and Best of Show winners will advance to the district ADDY awards where they will compete with others from across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.

According to the Lubbock Advertising Federation, the ADDY's are the largest and most representative competition in the advertising industry. Approximately 60,000 entries are submitted in local ADDY competitions across the country every year.
