Alumni Association Hires Assistant Marketing Director
Chad Elrod was hired as the new assistant marketing director for
the Texas Tech Alumni Association. He began his new position Sept.
19.
Elrod received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas Tech. In 1999, he earned a bachelor’s in public relations with a minor in marketing and Spanish. Then in 2002, Elrod earned his master’s degree in mass communications.
After getting his undergraduate degree, Elrod spent time in the Texas Tech athletic department, worked with the Lubbock Sports Authority and served as a teaching assistant. He also worked with the Lubbock Cotton Kings Hockey Club.
Elrod then moved to San Antonio to serve as a program coordinator for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Most recently, Elrod was the marketing director for the Valley Race Park in Harlingen, Texas.
At the Alumni Association, Elrod will be involved with marketing, design and layout, the TTAA website, advertising sales and hosting of special events as well as being the adviser for the Student Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Elrod is married to the former Shannon Hatton. They have a five-month-old daughter, Adisyn.
