Scott Irlbeck

Broadcast Producer

Scott Irlbeck

Scott Irlbeck is the producer for the broadcast services team.  In addition to yelling “lights, camera, action” (we don’t really do that – it just sounds cool), he serves as the go-to coordinator for the office – scheduling interviews, developing scripts and overseeing final production.

Scott enjoys his job because he is always working on different projects with a variety of people across campus. He is always amazed at the many faculty and student research projects going on at any given time and tries to capture as many as he can with video projects produced by the office.

In addition to working at Texas Tech, Scott also spends a few hours each day hosting an agriculture television program for KLBK–TV. It helps keep him in touch with the agriculture industry he grew up around, near Tulia, just a little more than an hour drive north of Lubbock.

Scott’s work experience includes six years as a news producer/reporter for KAMC/KLBK – TV before coming to Texas Tech. He worked for two years as the communications coordinator for Texas Tech’s International Textile Center before joining the Communications and Marketing staff in 2005.  He is a graduate of Texas Tech with a degree in journalism.
