Artie Limmer
Creative Director
The head honcho of the Creative Services office is Artie Limmer. An ex-football player turned artist, Artie is known around the office for his no-nonsense, professional attitude and as a steadfast photographer. However, when not taking pictures, Artie is famous for his great sense of humor, his dynamic personality and the thousands of photography stories he tells at the drop of a hat. Artie loves a challenge, meeting new people and putting both his personality and that of his subjects into his pictures.
A 1982 graduate of Texas Tech, Artie has a bachelor of fine arts degree in two-dimensional art, emphasis in photography with a minor in design communications. Artie has done work as a freelance photographer for prestigious media outlets such as Texas Monthly, Sports Illustrated and the New York Times. His photographs have appeared in materials from the Ag Credit Bank of Texas, U.S. News and World Report and the Texas Department of Agriculture. He also does a multitude of commercial work for many advertising firms and businesses in the West Texas region.
Awards for Artie's work include the 1993 CASE National Photographer of the Year, as well as 36 other national and regional CASE awards. He was the creative director and photographer on 15 SPD Merit Awards, as well as being a Silver Award winner in 2001 and 2002. Print Magazine has awarded his department ten "Best of" awards in the last three years for VISTAS magazine, selected annual reports and various book covers.
Artie’s favorite breakfast cereal is Bear Naked, All Natural Granola, and no, he’s not making that up. He’s not much of a sugar guy; much more of a beer guy.
Artie leads the photography group in the office. He is responsible for taking pictures and helps design the office publications and press materials. For more information about Artie, read his profile and check out his Web site.
