As the graphic designer for marketing and communications, Matt has the responsibility of protecting the integrity of Texas Tech’s identity and communicating through design. He enjoys using his creativity to represent and propel the university.
Matt was uninformed of the greatness of Texas Tech University, so he began his studies at Stephen F. Austin State University. There he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and digital imaging.
After spending a couple of years in the field honing his craft, Matt decided to step out on his own and try his hand at freelancing. MattsDesigns.com was a success as Matt created logos, printed materials, websites, animations and pretty much anything that needed a graphical element. Matt also teaches an online basic animation class (Flash CS5) for Kilgore College.
Raised in the small town of Diana, TX, Matt and his wife, Sarah, have a little girl, Kendi, who was born in June of 2009. Matt likes playing guitar, golf, creating art and enduring many hours of playing with 'My Little Ponies' Dance School with his daughter.
