School of Music Faculty Present and Perform in France
In January, Quinn Patrick Ankrum, assistant professor of voice and Dr. Gregory Brookes, assistant professor of voice participated in a multi-faceted, cross-institutional collaborative project. They traveled to France, where they presented recitals in performance as well as presented material in an academic forum.
They presented a recital ("Mélodie française et American Song”) at the Université-Toulouse Jean-Jaurès, and participated in a roundtable discussion (“Vocality in French mélodie and American Art Song”) with faculty and graduate students of the Institut de Recherche Pluridisciplinaire en Arts, Lettres et Langues (IRPALL) at the University.
Following their work in Toulouse, they traveled to Paris, where they presented a recital of American Art Song and opera excerpts for the Les arts George V recital series at the American Cathedral.
