Rawls Professor Receives International Recognition for Research Paper
A cross-disciplinary research team led by Dr. Ron Mitchell was recognized for writing one of the best papers in the ³Business and Society² Strategic Interest Group at the Annual Meeting of the European Academy of Management (EURAM) held in Istanbul, Turkey. The paper, "Accounting for Stakeholders", was co-authored by Ed Freeman, University of Virginia Darden Graduate School; Harry Van Buren, University of New Mexico; and Michelle Greenwood, Monash University in Australia. In the paper, the authors developed the conceptual foundation for including the value created by stakeholders in the accounting ³books² of Value Creation Stakeholder Partnerships. This concept was consistent with newly developed value creation stakeholder theory (VCST).
