Dance Professor Performs Four Works, Choreographs One
Associate Professor of Dance Nicole Wesley performed four works and choreographed on work for Encore! The Best of Flatlands Dance Theatre! at the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts. She directed the 2014 COCO Dance Festival in Port of Spain, Trinidad with eight of my dance students. The TTU students performed Punchline, an original choreographic work by Head of Dance and Professor of Dance Genevieve Durham DeCesaro. She was highlighted in the international magazine, Caribbean Beat. It is one of the largest Caribbean magazines in the region, September.
She is currently authoring a chapter in the book Youth Culture and its Influence on Communities by McFarland Publishers. This chapter discusses how the JUSTICE Project can influence its community through dialogue and dance, September 2014-May 2015. She received the RaiderReady First-Year Advocate and Faculty Fellowship Award, October.
