All COMS students automatically have an advising hold from the department as soon as their major is changed to COMS.
The COMS hold is always there. Rather than taking the hold off to allow you to register and then putting the hold back on, I move the hold to a semester in the future. So, the hold is there, but it is not active until the future.
Please READ and FOLLOW these instructions.
I. You are to
complete all information on the schedule request form. Items 1-13 ask for
courses you have taken or are currently taking so that you can identify
what CORE CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS you have left to take. For the list of

II. As you complete COMS courses check off the required COMS courses and fill in the numbers of the other COMS courses you are taking now or have already passed with a "C" or better.
III. You must have a minor. Fill in what your minor is and the courses you have had or are taking. All minor courses must be passed with a "C" or better.
IV. Your signature indicates that the information is accurate.
V. List all courses in which you are currently enrolled and the grade you expect to make.
VI. Based on the information you have just written, you should know what courses you need for 2003. Use the schedule worksheet and the TTU schedule of classes to work up your schedule. The COMS schedule is posted on room 273. You may access the schedule on the registration website. The schedule of classes is only available online. Go to www.techsis.admin.ttu.edu/student and click on search for classes. Fill in your requested schedule according to the following example. Be sure to include the 5 digit call number.

VII. List at least 3 alternate courses NOT JUST ALTERNATE SECTIONS. Schedule request forms without alternates will be processed last.
VIII. If you are planning to take Independent Research, COMS 4300 or Internship, COMS 4304, you must pick up the approval form from the boxes outside MC 273 and turn it in with your schedule request.

IX. Sign the schedule request and turn it in at least one week BEFORE registration begins.
X. You must make a copy of your schedule request before you turn it in. I will review and approve your request and move your registration hold so that you may register on your assigned day. If there is a problem with your request, I will contact you. Please be sure I have a current phone number, e-mail or a way to reach you.
XI. You are set to register on the web at http://www.techsis.admin.ttu.edu/student/
Registration in the Fall FOR the spring is always the first week in November. You need to start planning for your registration the first week in October.
