For Engineering and Pre-Engineering Students:

All engineering and pre-engineering students are required to take mathematics and chemistry placements exams. You will be unable to register for math and chemistry courses until you complete these exams, and your scores on these exams will determine in which classes you can enroll.

You will need to have your official TTU email account and password set up in order to take these exams. If you do not have a TTU account, you can contact Sofia Fuentes (s.fuentes@ttu.edu), or Gabriela Echandi (gabriela.echandi-truque@ttu.edu), in order to set one up.

Please contact Sofia Fuentes (s.fuentes@ttu.edu) if you have any questions or require further information.

For students who need to take the Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSI):

If you have not taken the SAT, or your SAT scores did not exempt you from the TSI, then you need to take the TSI in order to register for classes. If you are not TSI compliant, the TSI Compliance Office will notify you via email.

This assessment will be facilitated on Texas Tech-CR's campus and has a cost of USD $60.

Before you schedule an official appointment to take the TSI, you must secure payment with our receptionist and complete the online TSI Pre-Assessment Activity.

If you have further questions about scheduling or requirements, click here or contact Sofia Fuentes (s.fuentes@ttu.edu).
