Short Biography

Since graduation from Texas Tech in 2001, Chad has risen very quickly in his career through the executive level and is now the Vice President of Technology for Lucky’s Market http://www.luckysmarket.com/ . Lucky’s is a fast-growing startup with 25 natural/organic foods supermarkets across 11 states that are revolutionizing how people shop for fresh foods. They recently announced a strategic partnership with Kroger’s (the #2 food retailer in the U.S. with $108 billion in annual revenue). This partnership will only expedite Lucky’s growth.

Chad’s capabilities are evident in industry beyond his own employers serving on a product advisory committee for a Retail Fresh Item Focused software company (Applied Data Corporation) and as a frequent presenter at industry events.

Beyond his success in industry, Chad has proven to be a very active member giving back to Texas Tech and his community in general. A frequent recruiter of Texas Tech graduates, Chad was named to the Texas Tech Computer Science Academy in 2014 and joined the Computer Science Advisory Board in 2015. He is also involved with the Rawls College of Business helping with data research for doctoral presentations and served as an ex-officio member of the college’s dissertation committees for these projects. In 2015, he was recognized with the Outstanding Service Award from the Rawls College of Business.

Before his recent move to Niwot, Colorado, Chad was active in the Lubbock community, serving as a volunteer for the Lubbock Area United Way and Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was also active in United Supermarkets’ Ucrew doing community projects such as Habitat for Humanity, Legacy Play Village, 4th on Broadway, Special Olympics Ragin Cajun, and Meals on Wheels.

Chad and his wife, Michelle, also a Texas Tech graduate, have three children.
