Lonnie Haynes is an IBM Distinguished Engineer in IBM Global Technology Services where he is responsible for Data Center Management and Optimization for its Strategic Outsourcing services globally. In his previous assignment, he was Chief Architect for the A.P. Moller Maersk account in Copenhagen Denmark where he was responsible for the overall technical strategy and initiatives for the global shipping and logistics market leader.
Lonnie joined IBM at the Dallas, TX programming lab in 1981 as a systems programmer supporting the internal product development mission of the lab. Through a number of assignments supporting IBM development efforts in Dallas, Research Triangle Park NC and Copenhagen Denmark, he has played critical roles in both internal and commercial projects, including major data center relocations, server consolidation, successful outsourcing engagements for major clients, the construction of major hardened data centers, the development of commercial service offerings, implementation of global infrastructure solutions and management of technical services organizations.
His areas of expertise include: Infrastructure architecture, datacenter design, capacity planning and storage management. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech University and a Master of Science from the University of Texas at Dallas.
