| About Nachito Herrera | |
Having his musical roots imbedded in Cuba, early concerts by Herrera include a performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Havana Symphony Orchestra at the age of twelve. During the 1990’s he was the Music Director at the Tropicana in Havana and of the famed jazz group Cubanismo, for which he received two Grammy nominations. In 2001, he moved to the United States and has toured extensively, performing with such notables as Doc Severinsen, McCoy Tyner, Tito Fuentes and Chick Corea. The Minnesota Music Awards named him Best Latin Artist, and City Pages named him Best Jazz Artist of the Twin Cities. |
