Interdisciplinary Studies

Coursework offered through the College of Visual and Performing Arts can be used as a defined focus area in Fine Arts Management for the Master of Arts (M.A.) degree program in Interdisciplinary Studies. The program itself is supervised by the Graduate School although the focus is counseled by the Visual and Performing Arts Graduate Committee.

The program is intended for students who wish to continue education at the graduate level but do not seek specialized training concentrated in a major area. Thus, it does not necessarily prepare for entry into a traditional discipline-based doctoral program. However, it allows students to select areas of study that meet their own educational and career requirements by drawing together coursework in at least three subject areas and in more than one college. For more complete information, contact Brian Steele, Chair of the Graduate Committee in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, or see the Graduate Interdisciplinary Studies section of the Graduate Catalog.
