Lower division general course requirements - 66 credit hours (required at the community college level)
The following general course requirements for an Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) may be fulfilled at a community college. In the Hill Country, Texas Tech has lower-division articulation agreements with Central Texas College, Austin Community College and Howard College. Credits and courses from other institutions will also be considered during the admissions process and rated for equivalency. The requirements to complete an AAT may vary by community college.

Fulfilled with two years of the same lanugage in high school or with two semesters of the same language at a community college.

Teacher Education Program - 57-60 credit hours (required courses that will be taken through TTU at Fredericksburg, TTU at Highland Lakes, or TTU Center at Junction)
Students will need to have successfully completed most of the general course requirements at a community college before applying to Texas Tech University. Only courses with a grade of C or better will be accepted by Texas Tech University for the B.S. in Multidisciplinary Studies. A GPA of 2.7 is required for admission to the teacher education program.
