The College of Education offers the required curriculum for the Texas State Board for Educator Certification Visual Impairment Supplemental Certificate EC-12. Certification also requires the successful completion of two TExES examinations. Note that three of the courses have required weekend, on-campus instructional sessions. Students seeking certification through the TTU Special Education Department cannot take the TExES for Vision Certification until they have completed all organized coursework. The "Reach Across Texas" Program funds pay partial tuition for qualified students (pending funding).

Classes are delivered using one or combinations of formats including web-based
instruction, interactive video conferences, and face-to face.
