Academic Advising Admissions Career Center
  • Services of the Texas Tech University are available to all Distance Learning students, including:
    • Career Assessments (Strong Interest Inventory and MBTI) Career Counseling - may be done on the Lubbock campus or the Career Center staff is happy to reply to e-mail and telephone enquiries
    • Career Resource Information - available from the Career Center website
    • Students seeking employment may register with the Center and have access to job listings - available from the Center's website
    • Resume assistance and job search counseling- may be done on the Lubbock campus or through e-mail or telephone inquiries

Center for Campus Life Financial Aid ID Cards
  • ID cards are available to all Off-campus students and to all Distance Education students. Students attending orientation sessions at the Off-campus sites will have their picture taken during that session. ID cards will be returned to them by Texas Tech officials in approximately one week. If a student misses orientation or loses their card, then they can apply for an ID here.
  • Distance Education students can go to the above website and complete or print the form, attach a photo and mail the information to TechExpress office or attach a picture to the application form and electronically submit it to Texas Tech; an ID card will then be returned to the student
  • The code on the back of your student ID card is your access to the Texas Tech libraries. In the State of Texas, it also serves as the verification for your application for a TexShare card.
  • If a student loses his/her ID card, a $12.00 fee must be paid to the ID Office (Box 42035, Lubbock, TX 79409) before a new card will be issued.

  • The Office of the Ombudsman is an independent, neutral, confidential and informal resource. It does not accept formal complaints or notice for Texas Tech University. If a visitor to the office wishes to make a record, or put the University "on notice" that is, to make Texas Tech formally aware of a particular problem, we can provide information on how to do so.

  • This section of the Counseling Center Services website provides information to off campus/distance learners looking for guidance on finding a qualified counselor.

Student Government Association Student Handbook Student Health Services
  • Student Health Optional Insurance Plan: TTU endorses a short term health insurance policy that students can enroll in while they are attending TTU. Click on "Student Insurance" at http://www.depts.ttu.edu/studenthealth/shslinks.htm for detailed information and the application form.
  • Immunizations: This page explains the immunizations required of TTU students.
  • "Links": This page of links is an excellent reference for health care programs that can be accessed via the internet. These include online assessment programs as well as programs that are part of the TTU Student Health Services Department.
  • ULifeline.org: The Jed Foundation has created Ulifeline.org, a Web-based resource that will provide students with a non-threatening and supportive link to their respective college's mental health center as well as important mental health information. Testing Services, Academic Testing Center Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center Techexpress
  • ID card for all off-campus students

Texas Success Initiative Compliance Transfer Evaluation Office
  • Upon application, the TEO evaluates and enters transfer work on the student's record, when official transcripts are received.
  • TEO sends the student a letter explaining transfer work as well as a listing of all transfer work and Texas Tech University credit earned from that transfer work.
  • The TEO website gives any student the ability to look up equivalents to transfer work.
  • If the transfer course is not listed on the web site, a form is provided for the student to list the transfer courses for evaluation. When the form is submitted via e-mail, the courses are evaluated and the student is informed of possible equivalencies within 48 hours.
  • Students are also provided a form to submit courses they wish to take from another institution other than Texas Tech University that gives the student the equivalent of the course before enrollment.
