Program Overview
Texas Tech University's Collge of Education Teacher Education Program in Early-Childhood to 6th Grade (EC-6) elementary certification consists of 129-132 credit hours of undergraduate courses with a specialization in Bilingual Education or English as a Second Language (ESL).

This program is a partnership between Dallas County Community College District and Texas Tech University's College of Education. Students enroll in a community college, successfully complete the lower division coursework required for an Associate of Arts in Teaching and then transfer to Texas Tech University to complete additional upper division online courses plus student teaching. Students will be required to attend face-to-face meetings in the Dallas area. Upon successful completion of the degree requirements and passing scores on state certification exams, graduates will be certified as elementary teachers with a supplemental certificate in Bilingual or ESL Education in grades EC-6.
