Officers serve as the leadership of the organization and assist the Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center in its efforts to recruit, retain, and graduate Hispanic students from Texas Tech. The HSF Scholar Chapter Student Coordinator serves as the president of the organization.
The Texas Tech Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar Chapter began as a pilot program for Texas Tech University and the National Hispanic Scholarship Fund organization in 2008. The Texas Tech chapter was the first HSF scholar chapter to be fully funded by a college or university. The Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center supports the chapter and funds their recruitment and retention activities.
Past activities include participation in various college and career fairs, parent workshop presentations, a high school retreat, student panel discussions, recruitment trips to Houston, El Paso and Midland, and participation in TTU Office of Admissions' events, including "A Night with the Raiders," Spring recruitment receptions and Red Raider Academy. For more information about HSF Scholar Chapter at TTU, please send an e-mail to hispanicscholarshipfund@ttu.edu, call the Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center at (806) 742-8681, or visit “HSF at Texas Tech” on Facebook
