Big 12 Chapter of Diversity Officers Inc.
The Big 12 Chief Diversity Officers held their first meeting at NADOHE in 2008 in San Diego, California. At this meeting, the group decided it would hold an annual meeting of the Big 12 chief diversity officers at different campuses each year and organize annual activities, resources, and initiatives that would advance diversity within the organization.
In November 2008, Texas Tech University held the first two day meeting for the chapter. During the two days, Chief Diversity Officers discussed the goals of the organization and collaborative projects. In Summer 2009, the University of Missouri kicked off the organization's first collaborative program-Difficult Dialogues. Mizzou held a five day institute on their campus to discuss how other institutions could roll out the national project.
