What is the purpose of the Back to School Fiesta?

The Back to School Fiesta is designed to encourage families to explore college and prepare their families and children for college. Workshops provide information on how to prepare for college, what college academics and life are like, and the opportunity to meet current college students.

How much does it cost to attend the Back to School Fiesta?

The Back to School Fiesta is free to all participants. Free items and information are given away. Free school supplies are also provided to school age children. Enjoy free food at the event.


Where do I get information on financial aid and scholarships?

Workshops provide information on financial assistance and scholarships. If you do not receive the information you are looking for, please visit a GO Center on the second floor of the Student Union Building.


How do I get my son/daughter interested in going to college?

Texas Tech University and several schools offer programs that are free or minimal cost for K-12 students to explore college. For more information on these programs, please call 742-7025.


Where can I park?

Free parking is available in various parking lots around the Student Union Building.


Where is the Student Union Building?

The Student Union Building is located on 15th and Akron. Guests may visit the campus on 15th and University, University and Broadway, 19th and Flint, University and Glenna Goodacre, and other entrances. Entry stations will provide assistance on where to park.


Why do I need to visit workshops and the Involvement Fair to get my school supplies?

The Back to School Fiesta is designed to encourage parents and children to prepare for college. Workshops and the Involvement Fair help parents and children get information on how to prepare for college and what colleges have to offer. The workshops and Involvement Fair also include information on community organizations and businesses that can assist your child in preparing for college including positive health, after school programs, and other information.
