HIV/AIDS Awareness

In partnership with the StarCare Facility in Lubbock, the Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center hosts a free opportunity for the Texas Tech University community to learn about HIV and AIDS. Free HIV/AIDS testing will be available on site. Test results are instant and trained counselors are present to answer any questions or concerns individuals have. This event raises awareness and informs the Texas Tech University community about the dangers and complications with HIV and AIDS.

Glow with the Flow

Join the Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center and celebrate diversity with glowing colors. The CCAAC will host its first annual “Glow with the Flow” 3K Run/Walk on Saturday, October 29th from 7 PM – 9 PM at TTU’s Urbanovsky Park. Participants are encouraged to dress up and wear colors that represents their various heritages and cultures, all while celebrating each other’s difference in a “glow in the dark” theme. Have fun and celebrate what you represent: Veteran, Gender, First Generation, National Origin/Heritage, Athlete, etc.

First 200 registrants will be guaranteed a free/official “Glow with the Flow” t-shirt with their runner’s packet. Early registration deadline is Friday, October 21st at 5 PM. Packets will include t-shirt (limited), glow sticks, glow necklace, glow bracelet, Runner #, and misc. CCAAC swag. Registrants can pick up their packets on October 24th – 28th from 3 PM – 6 PM at Doak Hall 114A (2518 15th Street). Participants may also register on the day of the event beginning at 6 PM.
