The Robert L. Duncan Community Champion Award provides an opportunity to recognize an individual or organization devoted to the advocacy of education in and around our local community. Ideal candidates for the award should have achieved extraordinary success in their efforts to support, encourage, fund, provide, access to and promote all types of education including primary, secondary, and higher education.
Eligibility requirements for nominations are as follows:

Nominee may not be a Texas Tech University or Texas Tech University Health Science Center employee

Nominee may not have received this award in any prior year

Nominee must have demonstrated documented success in the area of education advocacy and support

Nominee must be a member of the local community

Nominee may be employee of public school district, community college, or other institution of higher education aside from Texas Tech
The chosen recipient of the award will be recognized during the Back to School Fiesta to be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Student Union Building on the Texas Tech Campus.

Selection and Recognition:
All nominations for the Robert L. Duncan Community Champion Award will be reviewed by members of the Back to School Fiesta Planning Committee. The committee will choose an honoree, and that individual will be recognized during the Back to School Fiesta to be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Student Union Building on the Texas Tech Campus. Following the recognition, there will be a private reception for the honoree.
