2007 Student Leadership Symposium Student Participants' Comments

Public Relations - Jayme Allison

"Thank you for the amazing opportunity to be a part of the Leadership Symposium. The experience is one that I will not forget. It was great to meet fellow leaders from various backgrounds."

Electronic Media & Communications - Morgan Cunningham

"I enjoyed the Student Leadership Symposium because it provided me with a great opportunity to network with other student leaders, as well as professional leaders in our local community. I feel that our challenge to design marketing strategies for non-profit organizations was a creative use of our talents and ideas. Not only did this project benefit the non-profits..it also allowed us to practice our leadership skills positively and collectively."

Biology - Crhistian Guerrero

"The Leadership Symposium was beyond what I expected. The Speakers were awesome and the different session were very informative. The best part was the project with the non-profit organizations. Although we worked under pressure and had a time limit, it was quite an experience. The presentations by the non-profits organizations made me realize that there is so much out there that needs to be taken care of."

Human Development & Family Studies - Stephen Locascio

"When I first arrived, I really did not know what to expect, but after meeting some of the other students I felt more at ease with the entire thing. The speakers that were provided during the Symposium were nothing less than amazing. They truly inspired me and what I was doing. The best thing that I did take out of this entire experience would have to be all the amazing people I interacted with."

Biochemistry and Mathematics - Joshua Nunez

"The Student Leadership Symposium encouraged me to use my peculiarities and unique culture, as well as my peer's diversity, as a launching pad for leadership and innovation."

Engineering - Maanisaad Shahriar

"It was amazing how we worked together in 'The Apprentice' like groups of random participants and how quickly we synergized into a working group and came up with feasible solutions to real world problems."

Accounting and Finance - Amber Vinson

"This Leadership Symposium was a great experience. It provided me with open doors to network and gain some self confidence about being a good leader."
