Message from the President
Diversity and equity are central to Texas Tech University's mission and strategic goals, and is an integral component of a quality education. Our mission recognizes the changing composition of a global society and how an education from Texas Tech prepares its graduates to be successful anywhere in the world.
In addition to recruitment of a diverse student body, faculty and staff, Texas Tech constantly strives to enhance support services for students, improve its policy environment, increase the quality and amount of equity programming available on campus, and broaden the curriculum to reflect the intellectual diversity of the world today.
Responsibility for participating in the university's efforts to create a community that promotes a supportive learning environment for everyone at Texas Tech.
The President's Diversity and Equity Award recognizes Texas Tech faculty, staff, and students in their efforts to make Texas Tech a welcoming campus through their commitment to service, mutual respect, academic and intellectual freedom, and diversity.
