President's Excellence in Diversity and Equity Award
Faculty Awards
The President's Excellence in Diversity and Equity Award was created by the Office of the President and is administered by the Division of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement to recognize the efforts of non-tenured and tenured faculty, within and outside of their instructional duties that promote the value of diversity and the importance of equity at all levels of the university.
The President's Excellence in Diversity and Equity Faculty Award recognizes a non-tenured and a tenured faculty who have demonstrated leadership in:
- Providing academic activities and projects that contribute to a better understanding of diversity and equity issues.
- Supporting students and/or student groups in programs and activities that promote tolerance and an appreciation of diverse cultures/groups.
- Participating in off campus activities that foster a greater understanding of diversity.
- Contributing to on and off campus activities that promote and celebrate diverse cultures/groups.
Each recipient of the President's Excellence in Diversity and Equity Faculty Award will receive a $2,500 research award in September 2013.
