Diversity Initiatives
From promoting fair, diverse hiring processes, funding multicultural events, and community outreach, a variety of Diversity Initiatives encourage a healthy mixing of culture at Texas Tech. See how the Office of Institutional Diversity is working to make Texas Tech a truly diverse university.
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is a participant in the annual “Science, It’s a Girl Thing” summer program, which provides a week-long camp-style science experience for over 300 girls, ages 10 – 17. Many of the girls who participate in the program go on to develop careers in the STEM or health career disciplines. Many faculty in the Department also participate in TTU’s Mentor Tech program.
Diversity + Academics = Opportunity
With 10 colleges, 150 programs and students from more than 93 nations, Texas Tech is a place where diversity and academics meet and generate amazing results. It is evident in our distinguished faculty, comprehensive coursework, expansive research, community outreach programs and successful students. Every college embraces diversity.
