Diversity Initiatives
Fiscal Affairs
The Vice President of Fiscal Affairs and the Director of Personnel and Key people in his department meet with the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity as often as possible to discuss the status of TTU's workforce.
The Personnel Office, a part of Fiscal Affairs, is actively involved in the following diversity initiatives:
- Participated in three job fairs
- Provided mentors for the Mentor Tech Program at Texas Tech
- Provided volunteer instructors for the Junior Achievement Program at a predominately minority elementary school
- Provided speakers to 5 local schools to talk about finding and keeping a job
- Served on the diversity committee of a local professional organization
- Created a database of local diversity speaking opportunities
- Created a database of major minority publications in the major metropolitan areas of Texas to expand the placement of recruitment advertising
- Will evaluate the feasibility of developing bilingual recruitment and benefits
