Honors College
- The Honors College is an extremely small division. Their hiring opportunities are infrequent. However, in hiring qualified staff and faculty, the Honors College places a continuing priority on promoting diversity when recruiting qualified candidates. When possible in national searches, the College considers advertising open positions in newspaper/periodicals/publications that have wide circulation with diverse audiences. In all searches, the College gives full consideration to qualified applicants representing diversity.
- In an effort to provide cultural/educational opportunities that increase international awareness, the Honors College has a six week study abroad program. The Summer 2004 program is based in London and Paris. The College has a special scholarship fund to assist students with study abroad.
- The Honors College requires Honors incoming freshmen to participate in the “First Year Experience” program, which requires students to do a number of diversity/international awareness activities and involves a research project.
- The Honors College holds a weekly current events discussion, which focuses heavily on awareness of international events.
