The Military and Veterans Programs at Texas Tech University is dedicated to veterans and their individual needs. The university offers a number of resources to assist veteran students.

Advising Center at Texas Tech

The Department of Texas Tech University Advising exists to engage, equip, empower, and encourage students (and their families) to explore and excel in their educational goals and beyond."

Center for the Study of Addiction & Recovery

The Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery is committed to achieving six primary goals:

  • Quality, long-term recovery for the student population through the creation of a Collegiate Recovery Community.
  • Development of resiliency in recovering students who often lack the personal, social, academic, and professional skills necessary to be successful.
  • Education about the disease of addiction and effective strategies for the prevention and treatment of its consequences.
  • Service within the university, local, state, and national communities.
  • Creation of an effective replication model that will allow other institutions of higher education to offer similar programs to positively impact their recovering students.
  • Research that impacts the way addiction is viewed from an individual, familial, and social perspective, and which will improve treatment success nationwide.

Financial Aid

The Office of Student Financial Aid provides financial assistance to students who, without such assistance would not be able to pursue higher education.

Ombudsman

The Ombuds Office deals with a wide range of conflicts, complaints, and disputes.

  • PEGASUS is focused on helping you succeed. With emphasis on your first and second year, as a student you will have periodic meetings with a Texas Tech Advisor and have one on one peer mentoring available to you. You will grow with the program through community service projects and exciting social events, which will engage you in all facets important to the college experience. Scholarships

The TTU Scholarship Office is dedicated to helping undergraduate students with scholarship needs. We award undergraduate need-based scholarships, merit-based scholarships, process all scholarships for Texas Tech University, and host a list of outside scholarships that are available. Texas Tech University distributes over $20 million in scholarship money annually and awards scholarships on the basis of academic achievement and/or financial need. Financial need is rarely the primary factor considered, but it is often used to make a decision among equally qualified finalists. Many scholarships have additional qualifications.

Student Disabilty Services

Texas Tech University has one of the most comprehensive departments for students with disabilities in the state. Supportive Operations for Academic Retention SOAR

The Support Operations for Academic Retention provides services for Texas Tech students as a supplement to classroom and lab instruction, enabling them to achieve academic success and develop lifelong learning skills.The Support Operations for Academic Retention will provide quality services to meet all the academic achievement needs for Texas Tech students by:

Student Organizations

Student Organizations are student based groups that share similar interest on the TTU campus.

TECHniques

The only program of its kind in Texas, the TECHniques Center provides supplemental academic support services to meet the needs of, and to promote the retention of, undergraduate students with documented evidence of learning disabilities and AD/HD. The TECHniques Center supports students in maintaining their focus, accomplishing their educational goals, and making education accessible to those who learn differently.

Technology Support

Each semester students, faculty, and staff are credited $2.50 for printing in the ATLC computing labs, which translates to 50 free black and white prints or 5 free color prints. Additional printing costs are $0.05/page for black and white and $0.50/page for color. Printing charges may be prepaid at the ATLC Reception desk.

University Writing Center

The University Writing Center provides one-on-one tutorials to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff in an effort to support its belief that writing serves as one of the primary means for learning and communicating.

Tutors are available both onsite and online. We are located in room 175 of the ENGL/PHIL building.
